We couldn't be more pleased for Anna Bullard and her family as the Ava's Law bill moves to the state house, after the senate unanimously passed it today. If this bill becomes law it would guarantee autism treatment be covered under private insurance.
The bill is named after 10-year-old Ava Bullard of Toombs County, who benefited from her intensive treatment, paid for out of pocket.
Her mother, Anna, says the fight isn't over:
"We just urge parents to let your house members know that even if this bill doesn't do something for your child it's about creating an access to treatment for children in Georgia and we will not stop until all our kids have a way to access that treatment.”
